Facility Hire Rates (Exclusive use)

The Gasworks Museum has two facilities for hire:

The Fitting Shop:

This is a recently restored building which originally was a gas purification building that was converted to a workshop. The Library is suitable for small meetings of up to 10 people. The main area which can hold 30-50 people seated or 100 people standing, has an old lathe and drill press as centre pieces and a forge area. The building is centrally heated.
Toilet facilities can be accessed in the main Engine House Building*.
Hireage Rates: The Fitting Shop
$50.00 per hour (minimum charge 2 hours)

Hireage rates : Meeting Room
$25.00 per hour ( minimum charge 2 hours)
Other equipment:**
Tables and chairs by arrangement.
Data projector and screen $50.00
Whiteboard: $25.00
Extra Tables: $10.00

* For larger gatherings we may need to hire portable toilet facilities.

** If gear is extra to what we can supply other hire rates will apply.

The Engine House:

This building has our main gasworks displays including working steam driven exhausters and pumps. This building has been described as the best example of working gas machinery in the world. The building has toilet facilities.
The building has many points of interest and our team can take tours to show people the exhibits. The building can be hired as a static display suitable for photographic shoots or other product launches.
This  area can seat up to 50 people theatre style
Alternatively our engineers can steam up and have the plant running. This does require them to be onsite up to 4 hours before the time of your event.
Hireage rates: The Engine House
Static display  $25.00 per hour (minimum charge 2 hours)   
Steamed up with working machinery $50.00 per hour (minimum charge 2 hours)

Catering:
We can arrange catering by prior arrangement for events you are holding at the museum.
